1:1 BUSINESS STRATEGY
The Business Blueprint
For the ambitious woman who’s ready to turn her experience / expertise into a profitable business doing aligned, meaningful work she loves
You're done performing someone else’s version of success.
You’ve had this feeling for a while now. You know you're meant for something more. Something more meaningful. Something more aligned with the life you're creating. You know that something is a business of your own, but:
✓ You’re afraid to start. You have so many ideas circling around and you have no idea what the right next step is.
✓ You think you just need to get the [degree, certification, experience] first.
✓ Your imposter syndrome is screaming at you — “People won’t pay me for that.”
✓ You don’t have clarity on what exactly you event want this business to look like
✓ You don’t have all the time in the world to devote to a business. You’re still working, raising babies, and/or living a full life.
✓ You get stuck in self doubt, wondering if you can even be the kind of person who starts a business, or if you even should.
HERE’S THE THING:
You want to build a business that helps other people solve a problem you once had.
Your experience already qualifies you.
The how, we’ll figure out together.
I HEAR YOUI am you.
In January 2020, I lost my dad in a tragic car accident. Six months later, the global pandemic forced me to shutter the travel business I'd been building for seven years.
In my deepest grief, I had to get a job — my first in nearly a decade. I was heartbroken, but I was lucky.
I got a job helping authors publish and promote their books. I had complete autonomy and was in charge of my own schedule…but still, I hated trading my time for money. And I struggled knowing my valuable skills were growing someone' else’s business instead of my own.
I desperately wanted to start another business. I had an inkling of what that business might be. I thought it would be fun to work with writers further upstream — in the writing and editing stages — but every time that idea surfaced, I shoved it back down and told myself it was silly. Writers don't have money to pay me!
When I got tired of hearing my own excuses (ie fear, scarcity mentality, imposter syndrome), I hired a coach.
And when I finally started my memoir coaching business, I had fairly quick success, proving myself wrong almost instantly.
For a few years, I truly felt like I'd created my dream job. I felt like helping people write and publish books was what I was meant to do!
Then my world shifted again.
I became a mother.
Suddenly, the old me was gone. Soon, it became clear she wasn't coming back. But there was new desire born right alongside my daughter — a desire to help other women build businesses and make money doing what they love.
So I pivoted again.
If you're becoming someone new — whether it's after a life-altering moment, entering motherhood, or a too-long stint in a stifling career or a business that no longer serves you — and you want to build a business that reflects who you are now, you're in the right place.
Let's write your next chapter.

MEET YOUR BUSINESS STRATEGIST
Hi, I’m Jessica!
I believe there are far too many brilliant women with businesses that don't reflect the quality of the work they're capable of.
Not because they aren't talented.
Not because they aren't working hard.
But because somewhere along the way, their business became a collection of disconnected ideas instead of one clear, compelling story.
That's where I come in.
Before I became a business strategist, I spent years helping memoirists shape the stories of their lives. Together, we'd uncover the heart of a manuscript, strengthen its message, clarify its audience, and revise it until every chapter belonged.
Over time, I realized I was asking my writing clients the very same questions entrepreneurs needed to answer:
Who is this really for?
What's the transformation?
What belongs—and what doesn't?
What's the throughline?
The more businesses I looked at, the more I saw the same pattern.
People thought they had a marketing problem.
Or a pricing problem.
Or an offer problem.
But more often than not, they had a clarity problem.
Their offers, messaging, audience, and marketing were all telling slightly different stories.
And when your business tells six different stories, it's hard for anyone—including you—to know what to say yes to.
That's why I created The Business Edit.
Together, we'll build a business where every chapter works together—from your protagonist and your messaging to your offer and your content—so you can stop wondering what to fix next and start moving forward with confidence.
Because I don't believe the best businesses are built by chasing every new strategy.
I believe they're built with intention.
One thoughtful edit at a time.

A Glimpse Into My Coaching Style
***The Business Edit is a new offer, but the skill behind it isn't. For years, I've helped memoirists find the throughline, clarify their message, make difficult decisions, and turn messy first drafts into compelling stories.***
WHAT IT’S LIKE TO WORK WITH ME
“I have clarity on how to move forward with my manuscript. I came into coaching confused, writing in circles with a lot of words and a jumbled storyline. Through our work, and mostly through [Jessica’s] edits, I was able to see the story come to life. I had it all there, but she was able to guide me to its potential. Her heart-centered approach was amplified in the way she delicately held the hard parts in a nonjudgemental and beautifully objective way while I sifted through the pain points. She has given me the gift of believing in myself as a writer, again. There is something undeniably healing in that.”
—Kathryn Vigness
“Jessica is an amazing coach and knowledgeable editor. She made me feel like my book was important and that I was capable of writing it. She showed up to each meeting ready to move the needle forward and at times it felt like she was more invested in my project than I was! She has the compassion to not overwhelm, the tenacity to go the distance, and the bandwidth to hold your vision with you, and for you when needed.”
—Paige Bradley-Pecoul
“Jessica has an annoying talent for asking the exact question you don’t want to answer… which is usually the one the book needs. Her coaching pulled me out of proposal purgatory and helped me land a book deal.”
—Leslie B. Scott, Author of THE LIAR’S PLAYBOOK (Spring 2026; Simon & Schuster)
“Jessica got me to dig deeper into my past in ways I never imagined and helped me find the belief in myself that I could do this…If you’re thinking about writing a memoir, you want someone like Jessica by your side. I swear my memoir would not exist without her.”
—Jessica Leibe, Author of (A)SEXUAL LIBERATION (Spring 2027, Third Rail Press)
Before I started working with Jessica, my memoir felt like a distant dream. Through weeks of accountability, guidance, development, direction, and a bit of nonjudgemental hand-holding, she has made this dream more and more of a reality. I highly recommend working with her, regardless of what stage your writing may be in. Unlike workshops or critique groups, I have been a part of before, her coaching delves deep to understand the true meaning of the work, bringing hope into sessions when I thought I was most lost. Also, the tone that she delivers all of her critiques and advice is calm, understanding, and incredibly knowledgeable. I trust her with my deepest secrets and worst writing!”

I Know How Scary It Can Be to Invest in Yourself and Your Business
THE REAL TRANSFORMATION IS THIS:
Confidence in yourself as a business owner because you finally have a business built on clarity instead of guesswork.
The confidence to invite people into your offers because you know exactly who they're for and the transformation they deliver.
The ability to raise your prices with conviction because your offer has been thoughtfully developed, tested, and refined.
Marketing that feels natural instead of draining because you're no longer trying to invent something new every time you create content.
Trust in your business—and in yourself because you're making decisions from a clear strategy instead of reacting to fear.
A business that's aligned with the life you actually want to live, not someone else's definition of success.
Clarity about your next chapter, so you can move forward with confidence instead of constantly wondering what to fix next.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
No.
The Business is designed for founder who already have a rough draft—whether that's a business idea, an existing offer, a side business, or a vision they've been carrying around for years.
You don't need a polished website, a large audience, or a full roster of clients.
You just need something to revise.
-
That's okay.
Many of the women I work with know they're good at what they do but struggle to define exactly who they serve and how to talk about it.
Clarifying your niche, positioning, and messaging is one of the core things we'll work on together.
-
Same. I don't want to teach you to become a better marketer.
I want to help you build a business that's clear enough that marketing becomes much easier.
When you know exactly who you're speaking to, what problem you solve, what makes your approach different, and what you're inviting people into, you don't have to constantly invent things to say. You’ll have conversation starters at the ready.
We'll build the story first. Then we'll figure out how to tell it.
-
That's okay.
Some clients join with an established business and inconsistent income.
Others are still working to sign their first few clients.
The common thread is that they have a skill, offer, or business idea they genuinely believe in and are ready to take seriously.
-
We're not building a business around an imaginary version of you with endless time and energy.
We're building a business around your real life.
The goal isn't to do more.
The goal is to focus on the things that matter most.
-
Sometimes.
But more often, I'll help you think strategically about your business, identify what's already working, and make decisions that align with your goals, strengths, and season of life.
The Business Edit isn't about following someone else's blueprint.
It's about creating your own.
-
I work best with service-based businesses and heart-led entrepreneurs who are building meaningful work around a skill, expertise, or passion they genuinely care about.
Coaches, creatives, consultants, birth workers, writers, wellness practitioners, and service providers tend to be a particularly strong fit.
